Using Acetaminophen (Such as Tylenol) in Children

Author: Dr. Bruce Carleton, MedSchoolForParents.com Expert
For the most part, it’s a very safe drug when used at appropriate doses and short periods of time (3-4 days). After age 12, acetaminophen can rarely be a concern for a child due to inactivation of a certain pathway.

If your child uses acetaminophen such as Tylenol for more that 3-4 consecutive days, you should see your doctor to seek other treatment options for pain or fever.
