Delayed sleep phase syndrome is prevalent in adolescents. It is when children’s biological clock causes them to sleep later and wake later than desired.

  1. Make sure your teenager has similar sleep and wake times on weekdays and weekends
  2. Limit media up to one hour before sleep
  3. Limit coffee and energy drinks
  4. Ensure regular exercise and exposure to natural light
  5. Encourage 9-10 hours of sleep
